Amy Gurgle obtained her law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law after earning a Bachelor's Degree in economics from the University of Colorado.  She is admitted to practice in the state courts of Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.  She is also admitted to the Northern and Southern U.S. District Courts of West Virginia and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia.

Prior to joining Regan Zambri & Long, Ms. Gurgle was associated with the nation's largest insurance defense firm where she specialized in medical malpractice defense litigation and ERISA litigation.  Ms. Gurgle also previously practiced in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia with a highly regarded regional firm where she handled medical malpractice defense, workers' compensation, and other civil litigation matters.

While in law school, Ms. Gurgle was actively involved in a number of activities fostering the development of trial skills including competing on the National Moot Court team, serving on the Moot Court and Lawyering Skills Governing Board, and serving as Managing Editor of The Ohio State Law Journal.  Following her first year of law school, Ms. Gurgle attended a summer program at Oxford University in England focusing on Comparative Trial Practice and European Union law.  As a practicing attorney, Ms. Gurgle participated in the National Trial Advocacy College at the University of Virginia School of Law, an intensive ten-day workshop geared toward developing courtroom trial skills.  She organized two annual trial workshops for young attorneys as well as a seminar for newly barred attorneys addressing various elements of civil litigation. Further, she has twice co-chaired the American Association for Justice's Regional Moot Court Competition.  She has given presentations on civil litigation practice including a November 2008 presentation for the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association designed to inform paralegals about trial preparation.

Ms. Gurgle has experience litigating in courts around the region and is well-versed in handling all aspects of litigation from commencement through appeal.  She is very pleased to be able to approach her work representing patients in actions resulting from the negligence of health care providers with the knowledge and insight gained in her previous defense practice.  She has combined a respect for the medical profession with an appreciation for the need to help the victims of medical malpractice find an outlet to redress those wrongs.

Ms. Gurgle is a member of several professional organizations including the District of Columbia Trial Lawyers Association, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the Fairfax Bar Association and the District of Columbia Bar Association.  In addition to her legal activities, Ms. Gurgle is very active in local philanthropic and charitable organizations, including the Junior League of Washington. She has served in various capacities organizing fundraising events benefiting underserved populations in the District of Columbia and Northern Virginia, with particular emphasis on literacy and the overall needs of women and children.
