The following are some of Mr. Long's settlements and verdicts:
- A $4.2 Million settlement for a six-year-old child who fell from defective playground equipment. The settlement was one of the first and largest verdicts in the District of Columbia regarding unsafe playground equipment.
- A verdict of more than $4.2 Million for several U.S. Army soldiers who were injured in when a Greyhound Bus crashed in North Carolina. The case was tried in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
- A $1.4 Million verdict for a grocery worker who was struck by a car while standing on a side of the highway. The verdict was rendered in D.C. Superior Court.
- A $1 Million verdict for a young woman who was disfigured as a result of negligent breast reduction. The verdict was rendered in the United States District Court for the Distract of Columbia.
- A $3.8 Million settlement for five-year-old child who was injured in a fire caused by a defective home appliance. The case resulted in the development of a warning label for such appliances. Mr. Long was awarded a patent by the United States Patent Office as the inventor of the warning label.
- A $1.8 Million settlement for a child whose arm was injured as a result of treatment following birth.
- A $1.2 Million verdict for a child who fell from an apartment window. The fall was a result of the landlord's failure to maintain proper window locks. The case was tried in the Circuit Court for Prince George's County.
- A $1.2 Million settlement for the family of a foreign domestic worker, who died after being struck by a truck. The accident occurred in the District of Columbia.
- A $1 Million verdict for a D.C. Public school teacher for a delayed diagnosis of cancer. The verdict was rendered in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
- A $650,000 settlement for a young woman who was falsely arrested.
- A $450,000 settlement to the parents of a child who died at birth as a result of an obstetrician's failure to diagnose complications of pregnancy. The settlement was based upon damages available for wrongful death under District of Columbia law.
- A $250,000 verdict for a woman who injured her neck in a slip and fall incident in a cafeteria. The verdict was rendered in D.C. Superior Court.
- A $100,000 verdict for a secretary of a D.C. Court of Appeals judge, who suffered back and thigh strain in a rear-end collision and returned to work. The verdict was rendered in D.C. Superior Court.
- A $450,000 settlement to a woman for damaged eyesight following cataract surgery.
