Jacqueline Colclough is a magna cum laude graduate of St. Anselm College, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1988. After receiving her license to practice as a registered nurse in Virginia, she received her law degree from the Columbus School of Law, Catholic University of America, in 1991. She is admitted to practice in the State of Maryland, the District of Columbia, the State of New York and the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
While in law school, Ms. Colclough worked as a law clerk for the Washington, D.C. medical malpractice defense firm of Montedonico, Belcuore & Tazzara, P.C. and as an intern in the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. She also served as a senior staff member on The Journal of Contemporary Health Law and Policy, as a Moot Court Associate and as a member of the Dean's Cup Committee, an oral advocacy association.
Prior to joining Regan Zambri & Long in 2005, Ms. Colclough worked as an associate with Thompson Coburn LLP, Washington, D.C., and Lamb & Barnosky, LLP, Melville, New York, where she represented corporate clients in transactional and regulatory matters for more than ten years. It was during this time that she developed and refined sophisticated negotiating and litigation skills as the lead attorney in multimillion dollar transactions.
With a goal to ultimately combine her medical and legal expertise, Ms. Colclough returned to the practice of nursing to strengthen her clinical background and skills. She worked as a staff nurse at a Northern Virginia hospital in the area of obstetrics and neonatology for nearly three years. She then brought this nursing experience to her work as a Project Coordinator for Special Counsel, Inc.'s Legal Nurse Services in Washington, D.C., where she was responsible for supervising teams of legal nurse consultants conducting medical record review projects for law firms and offices of corporate counsel. Ms. Colclough chose to join Regan Zambri & Long in order to use her many years of nursing and legal experience in medical malpractice actions for the benefit of those who have been seriously injured due to the negligence of others.
Ms. Colclough is a member of numerous professional and other organizations, including the American Association for Justice, the District of Columbia Trial Lawyers Association, The American Association of Nurse Attorneys, the American Nurses Association, the American Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar Association and the alumni associations of St. Anselm College, the Columbus School of Law and Thompson Coburn LLP.
Ms. Colclough was born in Manchester, New Hampshire and lives in Herndon, Virginia with her husband and three children.
