Patrick M. Regan is President and Senior Partner of Regan Zambri & Long and limits his practice to representing seriously-injured clients in medical malpractice, product liability and other serious personal injury and wrongful death claims. Mr. Regan is board-certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and is licensed to practice in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia, and regularly handles cases throughout the United States.

A premier trial lawyer, Mr. Regan has been repeatedly honored by Washingtonian Magazine as one of the top ten attorneys in the Washington metropolitan area, out of a total of more than 90,000 attorneys.  Mr. Regan has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America, widely regarded as the definitive guide to the leading lawyers in the country, and has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.  The Legal Times, a national legal publication, has repeatedly selected Mr. Regan as one of the top litigators in Washington. Mr. Regan was also selected by the National Law Journal as one of the "Top Ten Power Lawyers" in Washington. These awards specifically mentioned Mr. Regan's numerous significant verdicts and settlements within the last few years. Mr. Regan is the recipient of the "Trial Lawyer of the Year" award from the Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington, D.C., and he currently serves on the Board of Governors of the American Association for Justice. Mr. Regan has had more than 60 cases which have resulted in settlements or verdicts in excess of $1 Million.

In December 2007, Washingtonian Magazine again selected Mr. Regan as one of top attorneys in the Metropolitan area and stated: "Regan is one personal-injury lawyer who could be a poster boy for legal ethics and integrity in a field often ridiculed as being populated by ambulance chasers.  He has negotiated favorable settlements for clients ranging from an Arnold & Porter partner injured by a defective wheelchair to a 23-year-old beaten outside a bar (for whom Regan secured $4.5 million in compensation).  Most recently, Regan represented the family of slain New York Times reporter David Rosenbaum in its $20-million suit against the District of Columbia for inadequately transporting and treating Rosenbaum after he was attacked on the street--a suit the family has agreed to drop if the District corrects deficiencies in its emergency-response procedures."

Mr. Regan has been featured on numerous national and local television and radio programs, including The NBC Today Show, WJLA, WRC, FOX News, CBS News, WUSA, WTTG and many cable television programs dealing with legal issues such as medical malpractice, cerebral palsy, defective household products, trucking accidents and related legal issues. Articles concerning Mr. Regan's cases have appeared in many publications including The Washington Post, Washingtonian Magazine, The National Law Journal, The Washington Times, The Legal Times, Trial Magazine, The Daily Washington Law Reporter, The ABA Journal, and The Journal Newspapers.

Mr. Regan has litigated cases resulting in precedent-setting appellate decisions in medical malpractice, cerebral palsy, wrongful death, police misconduct/high-speed pursuit, trucking collisions, premises liability, and products liability. Mr. Regan and his partners recently obtained significant appellate decisions which: (1) established the new tort of spoliation for destruction of evidence in the District of Columbia; and (2) established dram shop liability for restaurants serving alcohol to minors.

Mr. Regan is a member of numerous national and local professional associations including, the American Association for Justice, Member, Board of Governors (1994-Present); Leaders Forum (2000-Present), the American Bar Association; the District of Columbia Bar Association; the Maryland and Virginia Trial Lawyers Associations; the Civil Justice Foundation and the Roscoe Pound Foundation. Mr. Regan has also served on a variety of committees for the D.C. Bar including Chairman of the Injury to Persons and Property Section (1988-1989). Mr. Regan served as a Master of the Bench of the Thurgood Marshall American Inn of Court (1988-2004).

Mr. Regan has written and lectured extensively in the field of personal injury law. Mr. Regan is one of the authors of the six-volume publication, ATLA's Litigating Tort Cases, published by Thomson-West.
